Providing our design engineering services directly to our clients means we need to be ready and available to accept work. This, of course, is a real challenge and one we constantly face month to month and sometimes even on a day-to-day basis. Our work schedule can be turned upside down before we’ve even had a chance to get started.
Like so many other small businesses, we have been in a position where we have started planning the project timeline with our client on a new project, being fully prepared to start the work, when the news was received that the schedule had been unexpectedly delayed. In situations like these, we try to stay positive, as, from previous experience, we have often found that when one door closes another one opens. One that we would not have contemplated and that wasn’t even on the radar, so to speak. Doing this means we stay ready and flexible to change where and when we are going to be working to enable us to respond to different customer requirements.
Thankfully, over the last 25 years that Sanstec Design Ltd has been operating, the number of doors that have closed have been few and far between, but when it has happened we have been fortunate to have been approached by our network of existing clients and extensive contacts, to work on something that was unexpected, and crucially, fill the space in our schedule.
