In days gone by, when there were just four television channels, we would occasionally suffer with TV interference, or technical issues, then the test card would appear and stay there for a short time or sometimes longer. These difficulties with communication are not an isolated issue and although technology has moved on a great deal, over the years, many of us I’m sure, will still have experienced instances when our communication has been hampered and our message distorted.
During the pandemic when we have been separated from colleagues, clients and suppliers, because of remote working, or staff rotation and office hot desking, it has been more important than ever to foster and nurture those relationships. But it has not been easy. Sometimes miscommunication has occurred because a sent message has not always been received, by the recipient, in the manner as it was intended. Whether it be caused by glitches with Zoom (other 'options' are available) or similar communication platforms.
Due to the distances involved, we have been more careful than ever when clarifying customer wishes and expectations, providing a clear response as possible, in terms of timings or possible issues to resolve, impeding on the overall design project. Dealing with design engineering enquiries, as we have done over the last 20 years, we are able to let the CAD do much of the talking, by visually showing our clients and partners what we have completed, and the problems, if any, we have encountered or can foresee. The visual 3D drawings and supporting data confidently support us with getting our message across, hopefully just like the words in this blog. Is anybody there? Can you still hear me? Do not adjust your set….
